Connecticut Legal Services, Inc. (CLS) is hiring an Administrative Office Assistant (AOA) for its Middletown, CT office. The AOA helps ensure the effective operation of the office, and is primarily responsible for providing support for CLS’ administrative departments, and performing reception duties for callers and visitors. CLS seeks applicants who want to use their skills to improve the lives of people living at or below the federal poverty level.

Job Opening: Medical-Legal Partnership Attorney Fellowship (Bridgeport office)

Connecticut Legal Services, Inc. (CLS) is hiring a committed attorney to lead its Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) with Hartford Health Care (HHC). The attorney will spend approximately three days per week at St. Vincent’s Medical Center (SVMC) in Bridgeport CT, and approximately two days per week in the CLS Bridgeport office. CLS seeks applicants who want to use their skills to improve the lives of people who live below the federal poverty limit.

Job Opening: Full-Time Housing Attorney Position with an initial focus in the Right to Counsel Program (Waterbury Office)

Connecticut Legal Services, Inc. (CLS) seeks a committed attorney to fill an attorney position with an initial focus in the Right to Counsel Program (RTC) covering cases in Waterbury. RTC focuses on eviction defense and other housing matters. This position is in the CLS Waterbury office.

Job Opening: Full-Time Public Benefits Attorney Position (Bridgeport Office)

CLS seeks to fill an attorney position with initial assignment in Public Benefits (Bridgeport Office).

CLS seeks applicants who will use their legal training to improve the lives of low-income people and further CLS’ holistic and client-centered work. CLS lawyers represent families and individuals in administrative hearings, and in state and federal courts, as well as (in various settings) advocating for changes in laws and systems to benefit low-income communities. CLS encourages lawyers addressing complex or systemic client issues to work in teams, which may include other legal services lawyers and/or other local community agencies.

Job Opening: Full-Time Family Law Attorney position covering Danbury and Litchfield at Torrington Judicial District (Waterbury Office)

CLS seeks to fill an attorney position with an initial assignment in Family Law, covering cases in the Danbury and Litchfield Judicial District. This position is in the CLS Waterbury office.

Members of CLS’ Family Unit work primarily with victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or other crimes by representing clients at hearings and trials in restraining order, divorce or custody cases; assisting with applications for Temporary Restraining Orders; and advising self-represented parties as they navigate the court process.

Every year, dozens of lawyers, law students, and other volunteers work with CLS staff to fulfill the promise of justice in Connecticut. We seek volunteer attorneys, paralegals, and law students to assist with legal work. Paralegals and law students may be able to obtain clinical credit towards a course of study.
